Singer, songwriter John McCutcheon in concert at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, Sept. 6

John McCutcheon, winner of two children’s album of the year awards, will perform a blend of new and traditional music and storytelling at 7:30 pm., Thursday, Sept. 6 in McCrary Theatre, located on the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ campus in the Faith Rockefeller Model Center for the Fine Arts. The performance is sponsored by the office of student activities and the cultural programs office at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ.

McCutcheon is a master of the banjo, guitar, autoharp, fiddle and hammer dulcimer, and a songwriter in the tradition of Woody Guthrie and Harry Chapin. His classic “Christmas in the Trenches” has been repeatedly cited as one of the greatest anti-war songs ever written. His concerts are consistently sold out from Russia to Australia.

Tickets for the production are $10 or free with ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ identification. Tickets may be purchased by calling the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278- 5610. The box office is open between 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
