ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ trustees approve diploma options

The executive board of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College Board of Trustees has approved a policy that spells out a range of diploma options for graduating seniors. The policy follows the board’s decision to change the name of the college to ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, effective June 1, 2001.

Students graduating in May will receive diplomas from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College. Beginning with the 2002 commencement, students will receive ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ diplomas. However, students graduating in 2002, 2003 and 2004 will have the option to request an ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College diploma in place of the university document. Beginning with the 2005 commencement, all diplomas will be from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ.

“We want to give current freshmen, sophomores and juniors a choice on diplomas,” says Leo M. Lambert, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ president. “Frankly, we expect most students from these classes will choose an ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ diploma, but we also want to provide students admitted to ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College the option of a College diploma.”

Students may specify the type of diploma they want at the time that they make arrangements for graduation.
