ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ television show wins award

“Touchdown Thursday Night,” the weekly television show about ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ football, has won an Award of Distinction from the Communicator Awards. Produced by ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students, the 30-minute show aired locally each week during the football season on Time Warner cable and ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ campus television. The winning entry was from the 11th show of the season, featuring ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s game against top-ranked Georgia Southern University.

The Communicator Awards is a national program judged by industry professionals who look for talent which exceeds a high standard of excellence. ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s entry was one of 3,312 from 47 states, the District of Columbia and eight countries. Only 18 percent of the entries won the Award of Distinction.

Jay McMerty and Steve Jeffries produced the show, Leigh Wheeler was the show’s director, and McMerty, Trip Durham and Keith Thomas were executive producers. “Touchdown Thursday Night” was produced using a crew of 20 students.
