ELON COLLEGE – Hundreds of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College alumni will return to campus Oct. 29-31 for Homecoming Reunion Weekend. This year’s theme is “Flashback! A Century in Review.”
Registration begins at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29 in Moseley Center and continues on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friday’s events include a golf tournament at Stoney Creek Golf Course and a tribute to the late Hollywood producer Kenneth Utt, a 1942 graduate, at 7 p.m. Players and coaches of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College World Series teams of 1985, 1987 and 1989 will be honored at a 6:30 p.m. reception in Koury Center. The classes of 1994, 1989, 1984, 1979, 1969, 1964, 1959, and 1954 will hold reunion receptions from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in McKinnon Hall in Moseley Center.
On Saturday, the second annual prayer breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. in the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College Community Church Parish House. The Homecoming parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Haggard Avenue and will feature classic cars. Children from the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College community are invited to wear their Halloween costumes and march in the parade.
Awards will be presented to the college’s outstanding alumni at 11:30 a.m. in McKinnon Hall. That afternoon the football team plays Charleston Southern University at 2 p.m. in Burlington Memorial Stadium. The Alumni Extravaganza! will be held at 8 p.m. in Moseley Center.
On Sunday morning at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College Community Church, the reunion classes will honor their deceased classmates during an 11 a.m. service. The festivities end with a performance by the Alamance Jazz Band at 3 p.m. in Whitley Auditorium.
