ELON COLLEGE – With more than 7,000 people expected to attend commencement exercises at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College on Saturday, May 22, traffic in the area is expected to be heavy during most of the day.
The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. under the oaks in front of West Residence Hall on the college’s campus. Traffic will be at its heaviest from
8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Campus police will have about 34 officers directing traffic and manning intersections. The North Carolina Highway Patrol has been requested to assist with traffic on Interstate 85/40 and U.S. 70. A portion of Lebanon Avenue that is adjacent to the campus also will be closed on Saturday.
