Jerry Tolley named major gifts officer at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College

ELON COLLEGE – ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College recently named Jerry Tolley to its Office of Institutional Advancement staff as a major gifts officer.

His primary duties are to raise money for an on-campus football stadium and athletic facilities, which are included in the college’s $40 million Campaign for the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Vision.

Tolley previously worked at the college from 1967 to 1986. During a four-year stint as head football coach, he led the team to consecutive national titles in 1980 and 1981. He then joined the college’s development office and held several fund-raising positions.

Prior to his current position, Tolley was associate vice president of community and public affairs and training at LabCorp.

The native of Edenton received a bachelor’s and master’s degrees at East Carolina University and a doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He also has completed executive and fund-raising training programs at Duke University, Dartmouth College, Vanderbilt University and the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro.

The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College resident and former mayor and his wife, Joan, have two adult sons.
