Raising Endowed Support for Internships

Women support ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ across multiple initiatives. Through facilitated focus group discussions, building endowed support for internships was chosen as the focus area for the first phase of this initiative. Internships serve a critical purpose of setting students up for success after graduation. ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s goal is to raise the endowed funds necessary to make internships 100% accessible for any student who wants or needs one.

Quick Stats:

• 88% of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students complete at least one internship prior to graduation
• 43% of these internships are unpaid

Philanthropic Goal:

The Women of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ will increase the number of students receiving need-based internship support. Through a collective effort including both individual and group gifts, a total of $2.5 million will be raised by Spring 2026.

The minimum gift commitment to establish an endowed internship fund at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is $50,000. This can be paid over five years and generates approximately $2,250 in annual support. During this initiative, women are encouraged to gather a group of friends and pool their resources to create a collective endowed internship fund. For more information about making an endowed gift, please contact Jill Hollis Stratton ’13 G’17 at jstratton2@elon.edu.

For donors wanting to support the effort but not at the endowment level, annual gifts can be made to the Women of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ fund. These gifts go directly to supporting ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ interns with current need. To make an annual gift to the Women of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ fund, click the button below.
